Who we are
Sevenoaks Driving Test Swap ("the service", "we", "us") is a free service provided by Sevenoaks Driving Lessons, 46 High Street, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN13 1JG. It has been developed by Geoff Newman, a DVSA-approved driving instructor in Sevenoaks, who works at Sevenoaks Driving Lessons. You can contact us using our contact form.
We are not part of, or endorsed by, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) or any government body.
What the service does
We help learner drivers with a standard car driving test booked at Sevenoaks driving test centre find another learner who wants to swap test slots. We introduce learners to each other and help them coordinate. DVSA makes every swap, and DVSA's own rules and decisions apply. See DVSA's guidance on swapping your driving test with another learner driver.
The service is free. We will never charge you for a swap.
Using the service
By using the service you agree that you will:
- only register your own driving test, using your own email address
- register only one test per email address
- give accurate information about your test
- never buy, sell or offer money or anything else in return for a test slot or swap
- never try to change, swap or cancel a test for someone else – this includes driving instructors registering tests on behalf of pupils
- never give another learner your driving licence number, theory test pass certificate number, address, phone number, email address or payment card details
- not misuse the service, for example by sending automated requests or trying to get at other people's data
We may refuse, suspend or remove anyone's registration, and block email addresses, if we believe these terms have been broken or the service is being misused.
Messages between learners
If you message another learner through the service, be polite and only use it to arrange your swap. Don't try to share contact details, licence or card numbers, or links – messages containing them are blocked. We keep a record of messages for 6 months after a swap ends and may read them if a problem is reported or we suspect misuse. We may remove or ban anyone who sends abusive, threatening or misleading messages.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for your own driving test booking. That includes checking that a swap suits you, checking with your driving instructor that you will be ready and that they are available, making your own phone call to DVSA, and checking your booking afterwards. Before you swap, read DVSA's current guidance.
No guarantee
We can't guarantee that we will find you a match, that another learner will agree to swap or complete their call to DVSA, that DVSA will approve or complete a swap, or that the service will always be available or free of errors. Information on this site about DVSA's rules is given in good faith but may be out of date – DVSA's own guidance always takes priority.
Our liability
The service is provided free of charge and "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, cost or inconvenience arising from your use of the service, including (but not limited to) a swap not going ahead, a test being lost, moved or cancelled, fees, lost lessons or travel costs, missed calls to DVSA, or the actions of another learner, DVSA or any third party.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.
Other learners
We don't check the identity of learners who use the service. We are not responsible for what other learners do or don't do. If you have a concern about another user, please tell us.
